The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has appointed Nigel Fine as its new chief executive and secretary, succeeding Robin McGill who has left to become chief executive of AWE.

Fine (above), is a chartered civil engineer with an MBA, who was previously managing director of Experian’s EMEA and Asia Pacific operations. His earlier career included stints at John Laing, International Paint and Andersen Consulting.
