Miles Ackerman has been appointed interim president of Nidec Drives, succeeding Anthony Pickering who has been made president of Nidec’s Motion Platform. Ackerman, who has been with the company for 25 years, was previously Nidec Drives’ chief financial officer. It is common practice in Nidec, when promoting from within, for senior positions to be granted initially as interim.
Nidec Drives was formed recently to bring together Nidec’s Control Techniques and KB Electronics brands. The company says that the unification strengthens its position in the market, and under Ackerman’s leadership, it will foster innovation, support employee development, and enhance sustainability.
It adds that his experience, both in the UK and internationally, “uniquely positions him to guide Nidec Drives into its next phase of growth and development”.
“After 25 years of growth and success with this incredible company, I am excited to embark on this next chapter,” says Ackerman. “Together, we will continue to prioritise our customers and drive forward with purpose and passion.”
