Artificial intelligence and robotics: innovation, funding and policy priorities

The review’s chair, Professor Dame Wendy Hall, will give the keynote address. The other nine speakers will include Professor Phillip Nelson, CEO of the EPSRC.
Industry 4.0 Summit / Factories of the Future Expo

The second edition of this event will include talks from around 40 speakers on Industry 4.0 and its adoption in the UK – including some case studies. The conference expects to attract 3000 delegates while the accompanying free-to-attend exhibition expects to attract 80 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors.
Drives & Controls Show 2018

Location: NEC, Birmingham, UK

In 2018, the Drives & Controls Show, along with Mach and other co-located events including Air-Tech and Plant & Asset Management, will be moving to halls in the “new” section of the NEC. 2018 will also mark the debut of the new Smart Industry Expo covering all aspects of the digital factory, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things.
Hannover Fair 2018

The 2018 edition of the world’s largest industrial exhibition will be first at which the Industrial Automation show-within-a-show will be merged with the biennial Motion, Drive & Automation (MDA) event to form a single entity to be called Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives (IAMD), and covering automation, power transmission and fluid power. Also from 2018, the vast CeMat logistics trade fair will run alongside the industrial show for the first time.
UKIVA Machine Vision Conference and Exhibition 2018

Following an inaugural event held in 2017, which attracted more than 300 visitors and 57 exhibitors, the UK Industrial Vision Association has announced plans for a similar event in 2018. Designed to provide an educational experience, the conference and exhibition will again offer a programme of technical seminars in several presentation theatres, supported by an exhibition of the latest vision technologies and services.

Location: Munich, Germany

The biennial robotics and smart automation exhibition had already allocated more exhibition space than in 2016, nine months before the doors open. This includes a 16% increase in the space allocated to non-German exhibitors and 12% for first-time exhibitors, including Siemens, Volkswagen and Wago. The event will host will host the Automobile Production Congress for the first time.
