Sweden’s Teqnion group buys UK servo specialist, HT Servo

The UK servo specialist HT Servo has been acquired by the Swedish industrial group Teqnion, which buys niche companies with good cash flows to own and develop. The terms of the deal have not been revealed.
Worthing-based HT Servo can trace its history back to the 1980s. It was established in its current form in 2001, with David Baillie joined as managing director in 2004. He has since expanded the company, and will continue to lead HT Servo.
For the past three years, HT Servo has achieved average revenues of around £4.5m, with “robust” margins. The company’s customers include leading UK aerospace and defence companies. It supplies them with motion components – ranging from velocity and position transducers, to brushed and brushless DC motors, electromechanical actuators, and gearing systems.
Teqnion has almost 40 subsidiaries which it manages in a decentralised manner. It says it focuses on profitability and long-term sustainable business relationships. It already owns several UK businesses, including Surge Protection Devices, Thermalsolutions, Stanwell Technic, Nubis, Norlin Polymers, Midland Special Fasteners, Merridale and Avelair.
