Siemens-ServiceNow tie-up will boost security and drive AI-powered automation

Siemens has joined forces with the AI-based business transformation specialist ServiceNow to enhance industrial cybersecurity and to integrate generative AI into shopfloor operations. They plan to combine Siemens’ Industrial Copilot for generative AI-powered automation and its Sinec Security Guard for vulnerability management, with ServiceNow’s workflow automation technology for enhancing factory operations.
ServiceNow’s OTSM (Operational Technology Service Management) suite helps organisations to manage and secure their OT environments by integrating IT and OT workflows, providing real-time visibility, and automating processes across factory floors. Adding Sinec Security Guard will enhance ServiceNow’s OT Vulnerability Response (OT VR) to offer more insights into OT vulnerabilities, allowing faster detection and remediation of security threats.
ServiceNow’s platform orchestrates complex workflows and integrates AI insights into operational processes. Siemens is bringing its automation know-how and its generative AI-powered Industrial Copilot which, it says, can transform human-machine collaboration in factories. The partners suggest that end-users mapping their workflows will be able to create more transparency with the Operations Copilot. Using natural language, the Copilot will offer shopfloor workers detailed instructions and recommendations.
ServiceNow’s ability to automate workflows – from maintenance scheduling to real-time problem-solving – will help to ensure that these AI-driven insights translate into tangible and efficient actions that improve productivity and reduce downtime.
