Parsons Peebles buys Anstee & Ware, doubling its size

Parsons Peebles Group (PPG) has acquired Anstee & Ware which offers motor, pump and gearbox repair, maintenance, reconditioning and field services to the water, rail and industrial sectors in England and Wales. The acquisition expands PPG’s service capabilities and adds seven new locations to its previous two sites.

The acquisition of Anstee and Ware will more than double PPG’s total number of employees in the UK from 120 to 270 and make it a strong player in the UK electrical services market.

“Anstee & Ware are a high-quality company with an excellent reputation and strong customer relationships,” says Parsons Peebles Group CEO, Frank Barrett. “They are a great fit with PPG and will enable access to new market sectors, significantly enhance our geographic coverage and add a service capability on specific mechanical equipment.

“Having seven additional facilities in England and Wales also provides us with the local network our key customers demand,” he adds. “I’m very excited about the additional capability this acquisition brings and we look forward to delivering even better service to our growing customer base.”

Jonathan Anstee, representing the sellers, says: “We consider this sale very beneficial to the future growth of Anstee & Ware. The combined strengths of the two companies will deliver one of the most comprehensive electromechanical service providers in the UK.”

Anstee & Ware, established in 1948, has one of the UK’s largest workshop facilities for electrical and mechanical repairs at its Avonmouth headquarters, and offers services including fabrication, machining, balancing and testing. It has six other sites in Stonehouse, Cardiff, Swindon, Castle Donnington, St Austell and London.

Parsons Peebles Group, which is owned by Clyde Blowers Capital, is a leading provider of electrical machines and associated services. Its history stretches back to 1898 and it has facilities in Rosyth, Scotland and Sheffield, England. Its capabilities include new machines and aftermarket systems for high-voltage motors and generators for the oil and gas, power, mining, marine and general industrial sectors.
