Online rotating machine analyser avoids site inspections

Quartztec’s partial discharge analyser avoids the need for on-site inspections

Quartzteq has launched a partial discharge analyser (PDA) designed to enhance the performance, durability and connectivity of rotating machines. The modular Lifeview PDA III instrument allows permanent online condition monitoring and diagnostics of machines. It gives operators control and flexibility without needing on-site inspections.

The analyser is housed in an IP66-rated aluminium enclosure, protecting it against dust, moisture and mechanical stresses, as well as meeting IEC 61010-1 safety standards. The modular internal architecture simplifies installation and improves accessibility for maintenance and upgrades. An LCD shows real-time machine health data, trends and alarms.

At the heart of the system is software that performs partial discharge, shaft voltage and magnetic flux measurements. Working with Quartzteq’s DAQ card, which provides nine‑channel measurement with 16‑bit analogue‑to‑digital conversion, the software processes, visualises and interprets high‑resolution data captured via a fast Ethernet connection. The system offers advanced analysis tools, visual dashboards and secure access to real‑time and historical data, both locally and remotely. Connections include Ethernet (RJ-45), USB, optional Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) and Modbus TCP/IP.
