RS adds rugged, easy-to-use drives to its own-brand line-up

RS Components has added a range of easy-to-install and use AC inverters to its RS Pro own-brand portfolio. The range consists of 17 AC inverter drives for single- and three-phase AC induction motors, most of them being IP65-protected for washdown duties, with two models being rated at IP50.

Pricing is said to be “highly competitive” and to compare well with digital drives that need complex programming and/or are provided in less robust plastic cases.

The RSAC, RSMK, RSMA and RSDA drives are suitable for AC motor-control applications such as conveyors, HVAC systems and pumps.

Programming is either simple, or is not needed at all. The RSDA series inverters, for example, offer power ratings from 0.75–2.25kW and use “common-sense” programming to organise parameters into easy-to-understand groups.

The drives come in epoxy die-cast-aluminium cases in two colours: grey, or an FDA-approved white version for use in food processing. Various models include Modbus communications, programmable four-digit displays, status indicator LEDs, and multi-function keypads.

A series of on/off switches is available for use with some of the drives. The RSACDC switch, for example, is designed for use with the RSAC-24D inverter. The switch can be installed on the drive’s front cover to provide a positive AC-line disconnect.

The RS Pro range of AC inverter drives and switches is available from RS in the EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.
