Move to larger premises leads to faster motor deliveries

27 January, 2014

The motors and automation manufacturer, WEG, has moved to larger UK premises in Redditch, Worcestershire, allowing it to cut lead-times for motors, drive and control equipment and to process orders faster. It will also be able to help customers more quickly with technical problems or custom modifications.

The new 11,895m2 site in Lakeside, includes 10,595m2 of warehouse space – much larger than its previous site – as well as a refurbishment workshop, training rooms and conference facilities.

WEG can now stock products that would previously have been shipped from Brazil, cutting delivery times by up to ten weeks.

“This investment also shows our commitment to growth in the UK and Redditch,” says WEG’s operations manager, Richard Crook. “We value the skilled workforce we have here in Worcestershire, so staying in the area was a natural decision for us. WEG UK first opened an office in Redditch in 1997 and now employs 54 people.”
