Baby drive joins Rockwell`s Powerflex range

Rockwell Automation has unveiled the latest, and smallest, member of its new PowerFlex generation of drives. The PowerFlex 4, which made its debut at the company`s annual Automation Fair in the US in November, spans ratings from 0.2-3.7kW for operation on 110V, 230V or 480V.

Like other members of the PowerFlex family, the new drive has been designed as a global product, and is available with an built-in filter for single-phase 230V operation. The standard version comes in a compact IP20 package that can be DIN-rail or panel mounted. The drives can be mounted side-by-side.

The drive is also available in a chassis-mounting version, further reducing panel size and costs.

A built-in RS485 port allows the new drive to be used with Allen-Bradley DriveExplorer and DriveExecutive software.
