Chain will never need lubrication

Renold claims to have developed the world`s first truly maintenance-free chain, which will not need any relubrication during its entire working life. The Syno II chain incorporates an "intelligent bush" that releases just the right amount of lubricant to ensure smooth, efficient running of the chain.

The result is a chain which is dry to the touch, and has no excess lubricant to contaminate manufactured goods, even in the presence of light water sprays, and running at speeds of up to 3m/s.

Renold expects the chain to be particularly useful in applications where maintenance is difficult or where the risk of product contamination is unacceptable - as in the food industry.

Syno II is the only chain available whose rollers have a food-approved coating. In addition, its lubricant is USDA H1-approved and its nickel-plated pins and plates are resistant to flaking, chipping or peeling.

The new chain is interchangeable with standard chain and runs on standard sprockets, even in duplex and triplex configurations. It uses standard attachments on its outer links and has an operating temperature range of -20 to +150°C.
