Adjustment-free servos are `industry`s smallest`

At the recent Hannover Fair, Yaskawa unveiled a new generation of AC servo drives that, it says, are 44% smaller than their predecessors, and 54% smaller than some of their rivals. The Junma servos, which will be sold in Europe under the Omron name, are said to be as easy to set up as stepper drives.

A newly developed automatic tuning function makes parameter adjustments unnecessary - you simply make the connections and run, according to Yaskawa. The only information the user needs to input is the resolution, from 1,000-10,000 pulse/rev.

The single-phase servo drives will be available in ratings up to 750W. The smallest versions (100W) are 35mm wide, 140mm high and 105mm deep. The largest (750W) are 70mm wide, 140mm high and 145mm deep.

Yaskawa has produced a range of servo motors to match the drives.
