Bluetooth controls motors without wires

The Danish motor manufacturer JVL claims to have developed the world`s first integrated servo motor that can be set up and controlled wirelessly, using a Bluetooth radio link. The development takes the form of a Bluetooth module for use with the company`s MAC motors.

The module (shown above) allows users to control the motor from a mobile phone or PC, and to set up parameters and position axes without needing the usual serial cables. The module has eight inputs and four outputs, and can transmit data at up to 19.2 kb/s. It can also be used to connect local zero-set sensors.
