Güdel`s Coventry move quadruples its size

The parts-handling and automation specialist Güdel Lineartec is moving to new premises in Coventry four times bigger than its previous site. The new building gives the company 930m2 of floor space in which to expand its engineering services department and to stock more spares.

"By winning major contracts for component-handling systems, primarily from motor industry customers, we have increased sales year-on-year for the past six years," says joint managing director, Gary Ottley.

Recently, the company has been diversifying into other sectors and has won orders from the pharmaceutical, food handling and precision engineering sectors. "As a result, we have simply outgrown our previous site," says Ottley. The new premises "also provide room for several new developments that we already have in the pipeline," he adds.

Güdel UK is part of a Swiss-based engineering group that specialises in modular systems for positioning components.
