Nick Spetch is appointed MD of Parvalux

29 March, 2012

Nick Spetch (below) has been appointed managing director of the Bournemouth-based geared motor manufacturer, Parvalux. He has been promoted from the position of sales director. Before joining Parvalux several years ago, Spetch was RS Components’ group sales director for UK and Ireland.

“Nick has been instrumental in growing our business from £6m to over £18m in six years,” says Parvalux CEO, Steven Clark. “He led the sales integration of the EMD brand into Parvalux and developed successful partnerships with many key European OEMs.

“For quite a while now, Nick has been managing our daily operations and I wanted to recognise both his contribution to our success and his management skills within the whole company,” Clark adds. “Nick will continue to lead our sales and marketing efforts. With the support of the board, he will be pivotal in the delivery of our strategies that have delivered over 20% organic growth. We will, of course, continue to make progress on improving our business efficiency.”

Parvalux is the UK’s largest manufacturer of small geared motors, offering an wide range of customisable AC and DC geared motors. The privately owned business, which exports more than 60% of its output, is part of the Clark group of companies.

“Whilst we are pleased to lead the UK market by a large margin,” says Spetch, “we have our eyes set on Europe and building market share within key industrial markets.

“We are taking market share with our unique ability to provide bespoke geared motor solutions,” he continues. “We have worked extremely hard at driving manufacturing efficiencies into our production, and this, combined with our significant in-house design team, means we can support mid-to-high volumes very competitively indeed.

“We are committed to building a world-class service,” Spetch adds. “To support this, we have recently appointed Andy Hunt and Chris Reynolds to the board of directors. Responsible for logistics and IT/production respectively, both individuals are focused on delivering significant benefits to our materials planning and production processes.

“This commitment to strengthening our board is another step to ensure we remain at the forefront of our market in terms of service and manufacturing capability.”
