Prudhoe-based Quantum Controls has developed a multifunction softstart or variable speed drive panel which it is offering on a free trial period to UK-based Drives & Controls readers.

The small, manoeuvrable panel, which handles applications from 1.9–15kW, incorporates an incoming mains isolator and an ABB soft-start with a bypass function. Users set the required rating via a simple overload selector switch.

The wide power range means that one panel can be moved from one application to another with little disruption or modification. A few panels can be held on standby to cover several sites in the event of a breakdown. The compact, lightweight, IP65-rated panels can be carried in almost any vehicle. They are available to buy, hire or lease.
