BSL extends WEG deal to to drives and soft-starts

BSL has extended its UK distribution agreement with WEG to include the Brazilian motor-maker`s ranges of AC inverter drives and soft-starters. Graham Perry, WEG`s manager for drives products, sees the new deal as "a tremendous vote of confidence in our new drives range".

The agreement covers two families of drives, both built by WEG. The smaller CFW-08 drives cater for single-phase applications from 0.25-—2.2kW and three-phase applications from 0.25—7.5kW and use a 16-bit "space vector modulation" technology. The more sophisticated CFW-09 Vectrue inverters offer a choice of v/f, sensorless vector or closed-loop vector operation at ratings from 1.1—1,000kW.
