Leuze goes solo in the UK - and appoints new MD

25 November, 2008

The German optical sensing specialist, Leuze electronic has established a wholly-owned UK subsidiary, breaking its ties with its former joint-venture partner, Mayser Polymer, with which it ran Leuze Mayser. A new UK managing director, Mark Weymouth, has been appointed to head the reorganised business, which will adopt it parent’s name.

“Leuze electronic is committed to being ‘the sensor people’ of choice by providing industry-leading customer service and products,” Weymouth (above) explains. “Therefore, in order to better serve the UK market, Leuze electronic is establishing a wholly-owned UK subsidiary, better able to concentrate on our wide product portfolio.”

Weymouth, previously with Phoenix Contact, is confident that the organisational changes and investment being made in the UK will boost the company’s performance, enabling it to expand,  “despite the doom and gloom that fills our newspapers at the moment”.
