WEG offers three-year warranty on motor-drive combos

WEG has introduced a three-year warranty on packages that combine its motors and drives.

The extended warranty in the UK follows tests performed by WEG in Brazil in which its high-efficiency motors were connected to drives from other manufacturers, as well as its own. WEG says that the temperature rises recorded when it used its own drives were as much as 11% lower than those produced by other drives.

The reduced temperature rise should extend the life of the insulation, and thus the motor. In addition, the turn-on time of the WEG drives` output devices is set so that the motor insulation will not be damaged by rapidly rising voltages.

"The fact that we have introduced such as comprehensive warranty is evidence of the confidence we have in the quality and reliability of our equipment," says Marek Lukaszczyk, WEG`s general sales and marketing manager in the UK.
