Parker Hannifin has bought the Texas-based linear motors manufacturer, Trilogy Systems, for an undisclosed sum. Trilogy, which employs 38 people and has annual sales of around $6m, will join Parker`s Electromechanical Automation Division.

According to Bob Bond, president of Parker`s automation group, the acquisition will provide Parker with all of the main linear motion technologies. Trilogy`s patented designs are said to offer low costs, smooth motion, and high force capabilities,

In a separate deal, Parker Hannifin has bought Advanced Products, which manufactures metallic and polymer spring energised seals. AP, which employs 150m people at sites in the US and Belgium, has annual sales worth around $20m.
