01 July, 2004

Schneider Electric and Fuji Electric have formed a joint venture in China to manufacture low-voltage circuit-breakers. The company, called Schneider Fuji Breakers Dalian, will produce MCCBs (moulded-case circuit-breakers) in the city of Dalian.

Schneider has a 60% stake in the new venture, and Fuji 40%. Both companies will sell products made by the new business under their own brands. The first product to be manufactured will be a 250A MCCB.

The Dalian plant will employ 160 people and is expected to be producing more than 600,000 breakers a year, within a few years..
