• Parker Hannifin`s UK Electromechanical Automation division has moved its sales, support and marketing operations to a new purpose-built facility in Poole, Dorset, close to Parker EME`s former manufacturing plant.

• Mitsubishi Automation is offering an unforgettable prize, such as driving a Ferrari or swimming with dolphins, to the person who finds the oldest FX PLC in continuous operation in the UK. The UK solenoid manufacturer Mechetronics has formed a joint venture with the KGS Freewood Corporation in China to supply low-cost solenoids in high volumes. The JV, Mechetronics Asia, builds on a ten-year partnership between the parent companies.

• SIEI (UK), the variable speed drives supplier owned by Italy`s Gefran, has appointed WJ Electrical Supplies of Falkirk as its first Scottish distributor.

• Western Automation has invested in new facilities in Cardiff to support its growing customer base. It is also changing its name to Western Automation ETS to reflect the importance of drives and controls products in its business.

• JVL, the Danish developer of servo motors with built-in electronics, has opened a UK office at the South Fens Business Centre, near Cambridge.
