GE guarantees 24-hour delivery for Internet ordering service

General Electric has introduced an Internet-based service for ordering electric motors in the US with promise that if an ordered motor does not arrive within 24 hours, the company will give a 10% discount on a subsequent order worth up to $10,000.

The service, called MotorDirect, covers more than 800 models of motor, ranging in size from under 1kW to around 300kW (400hp). Purchasers will be able to pay for the machines either using a credit card or by setting up a direct billing account.

The MotorDirect Web site (www.motordirect.com) includes comprehensive motor specifications. If customers need more information, they are directed to motors specialist.
