• Mitsubishi Electric and Dowding & Mills have joined forces to create an automation service centre for Scotland, based at Bellshill, near Glasgow. The business will offer scheduled maintenance servicing, with D&M engineers regularly attending customers` sites to perform routine maintenance work such as program back-ups, tuning and minor repairs. The business may be replicated in other parts of the UK.

• igus UK has moved to new premises on Northampton`s Brackmills Industrial Estate. The phone number is 01604 677240.

The Manufacturing Advisory Service is offering London-based manufacturers - including an estimated 400 machinery manufacturers - a service aimed at helping them to think more strategically. Under a three-year programme, supported by the DTI, the manufacturers will be given free assessments of their businesses and will be provided with a strategic plan for long-term growth. The DIN-rail power supply manufacturer Puls UK, has moved to new, larger offices in Ampthill, which will allow it to increase its stock-holding as well as offering demonstration and engineering facilities.
