M8 connectors have 360° shields to ensure reliable signal transmission

The German connector manufacturer binder is expanding its M8 portfolio with moulded, 360° shielded connectors designed to transmit signals reliably and interference-free from sensors to controls, even in EMC-critical environments.
A completely closed 360° shields minimise electromagnetic interference, resulting in secure, uninterrupted signal transmission. The connectors offer high vibration resistance, ensuring high reliability, even under continuous load.
The compact M8 connectors are particularly suitable for installations with limited space, as those encountered in robotics, mechanical engineering and measurement and testing applications. Their small size allows space-saving implementation of complex sensor-actuator networks.
The new versions are available with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 pins, and customer-specific cable lengths. They are compatible with standard M8 interfaces in accordance with IEC 61076-2-104.
The redesigned 360° shielded M8 female cable connectors have a flat surface that prevents dust and dirt from accumulating in the grip area.
“With the redesigned 360° shielded M8 female cable connector and the 360° shielded M8 male cable connector, we can offer our customers our best shielding concept for interference-free signal transmission,” says binder product manager, Guido Werner. “The new design and shielding concept have already proven themselves in the field with our M8 data connectors featuring D-coding, and have been successfully used for years. I am convinced that the future of our electromechanical circular connectors in automation will be data-driven, hybrid, and smart – and that shielded versions will play an increasingly important role.”
The IP67-protected connectors resist dust, moisture and vibrations. Various flange socket and plug versions allow easy integration into existing systems. They have a rated voltage of 60V DC and a rated current of 4A.
