Barcode scanners handle 1m-wide conveyors moving at 3.5m/s

Datalogic claims that a new range of ultra-high-resolution 2D barcode readers are the only ones of their type that can scan conveyor belts up to 1m wide with a single reader. It says that the Matrix 830/930 series readers set a new benchmark for performance, efficiency and system costs, redefining how large-area conveyor scanning is achieved.
With their 28-megapixel, 8,000-pixel-wide sensors, the readers can capture large-area flows without needing multiple cameras, folding mirrors or added complexity. This allows operators to reduce system complexity, installation times and maintenance costs. The readers are compatible with Datalogic’s Smart Vision Suite for Logistics.
The scanners can handle conveyor speeds up to 3.5m/s, accurately capturing multiple items even in dense flows. The combination of ultra-high resolution and patented focus technologies is said to ensure high read rates and operational robustness.
