The industrial automation and process control supplier, Eltek Systems, has renamed itself as Actemium and relocated to a larger site at Axis Park in Peterborough. The move follows Eltek’s acquisition in 2020 by Vinci Energies, which already owned a UK subsidiary called Actemium.

Following the acquisition, Eltek initially continued to operate under its own name. Now, five years on, it has adopted the Actemium brand, joining the other Actemium businesses which have a combined total of 635 people working at 20 UK locations, providing electrical, automation and mechanical systems and services. Actemium UK is itself part of the €20.4bn global Vinci Energies group, which owns 2,100 businesses that design, integrate and maintain technical systems in 61 countries.

Eltek, founded in 1983, offers systems integration, control panel manufacturing, and electrical installation services. Now branded as Actemium Automation Peterborough, it will continue to serve players in the food and beverage sector, including PepsiCo and McCain Foods, as well as other industrial clients.

Its relocation from Oundle to Peterborough provides Eltek with the infrastructure to support a growing demand from customers. Its new facility includes a much larger workshop – which it will use to design and build control systems – as well as expanded offices and extra room for meetings.

“Our new facility provides the space and environment our team needs to work more effectively, while enabling us to collaborate seamlessly with customers and suppliers,” says general manager, Simon Robson. “In addition, our proximity to Peterborough gives us access to a broader talent pool, which is essential for supporting our continued growth.

“By joining the Actemium family, we’re making it easier for customers to recognise and access the extensive resources of the global Actemium network,” he adds. “The quality and responsiveness of our service and our entrepreneurial spirit that customers know and recognise us for will remain at the heart of all we do.”

Speaking at the opening of the new facility, Actemium perimeter director, Rob Shaw, said: “It has been a privilege to watch Eltek Systems evolve over the past five years, expanding its capabilities, strengthening its reputation, and building closer collaboration with sister companies across the Actemium network. Transitioning under the Actemium banner is a natural next step in this journey. By leveraging Actemium’s UK-wide and global scale and innovation expertise, Actemium Automation Peterborough is perfectly positioned for continued growth -– delivering benefits for its employees, the local community, and the wider Actemium group.”

Actemium UK is part of the global Actemium operation which has revenues of €4bn, and employs more than 27,000 people in over 440 specialist businesses in more than 40 countries. In the UK, Actemium offers engineered electrical, automation and mechanical systems. With 2024 revenues of £102m, it employs 635 people and operates 14 specialist engineering companies at 20 locations across the UK. It covers the full project lifecycle, from consultancy and design, to build and maintenance.
