Easy-access separator ‘revolutionises’ energy chains

15 June, 2017

The German plastics engineering specialist igus claims that a new separator system that it has developed for energy chains will cut installation times by up to 80%. The system, which is easy to open and fill from any side, also simplifies the division of e-chain interiors. It is used in the E4.1L chain which igus describes as “the lightest cable-carrying e-chain on the market”.

The new separation system makes it easy to insert shelves on several levels. In addition, the opening mechanism of the crossbars along the inner and outer radii guarantees fast filling with cables and hoses. The captive crossbars, which can be opened using a screwdriver, can be pivoted open to 115 degrees and latched into their final position.

The crossbars can even be removed completely, fitted again and closed just by pressing down. The rounded edges of the crossbars and separators also ensure long service lives for the contained hoses and cables.

igus says that its new separator system will cut e-chain installation times by up to 80%
