Rockwell buys leading US systems integrator, Maverick
Rockwell Automation has acquired North America’s largest independent systems integrator, Maverick Technologies, to help it to deliver control and information systems to customers in industries such as chemicals, food and beverage, and oil and gas. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Rockwell says that the acquisition will strengthen its expertise in key process and batch applications and help its customers to achieve higher productivity and improved global competitiveness through process control and information management systems.
Maverick, founded in 1999, has 21 locations in the US and employs more than 300 engineers and technical salespeople. It has completed more than 15,000 projects in 46 countries across six continents. Maverick’s headquarters are in Columbia, Illinois.
“Industrial control and information solutions are most effective when they result from close collaboration between a knowledgeable supplier and the user,” says Ken Champa, senior vice-president in Rockwell’s Control Products and Solutions business. “The combination of our global industrial automation leadership with Maverick’s platform-independent domain expertise will help our customers reduce complexity and realise unprecedented productivity.”
The acquisition supports Rockwell’s strategy to encourage customers to adopt The Connected Enterprise, which connects information across the plant floor with the entire enterprise.

Over the years, Maverick has made several acquisitions, including General Electric Automation Services (in 2005), Laplace Technologies (in 2006), Mission Controls (in 2009), Program4 Engineering (in 2009) and CQS Innovation (in 2014).
