New service will accelerate drive and motor deliveries

09 September, 2016

The drives-maker Control Techniques (CT) and the motor manufacturer Leroy-Somer (LS) - both part of Emerson Industrial Automation - have launched a new service, called Express Availability, designed to cut European delivery times for their motors, drives, servos, geared motors, options and accessories, in ratings from 0.09–500kW. The companies are committing themselves to shipping products in one to ten working days inside Europe, with the option of a 24-hour service in emergencies.

The service is a response to research which revealed a demand for short lead times for drive and motor products. Most customers expect to receive their products within two weeks, with some demanding faster deliveries in emergencies.

The new service will helps CT and LS customers to maintain continuity of production while reducing the need for them to hold on-site stock and spares.

The service is available to OEMs, distributors and end-users, and covers most standard products, packages, options and accessories. Using a URL or QR code, any customer will be able to access lead-time grids on Emerson’s Web site.

Control Techniques and Leroy-Somer products will reach customers in less than 10 days using the new Express Availability service

A product selection tool called The Configurator will also indicate the Express Availability lead-time at every step of the product selection process.

•  Emerson announced recently that it is selling Control Techniques and Leroy-Somer to the Japanese motor-maker, Nidec.
