Collaboration extends to LV motors and drives

03 September, 2012

Siemens Drive Technologies is extending its strategic partnership with HMK Technical Services to cover low-voltage motors and drives. This gives OEMs a single point of contact for complete drive-train systems.

The appointment of Congleton-based HMK as an official OEM partner for Siemens LV motors follows the success of their existing partnership covering motion controls. In the first quarter of 2012, Siemens’ motion control business achieved a £1m growth in sales as a result of this collaboration.

“Extending our long-standing partnership with HMK is testament to its success and our drive to ensure our solutions meet our customers’ needs in a challenging marketplace,” says Ian Welsh, business manager for industrial motors at Siemens Drive Technologies. “Importantly, the incorporation of our LV motors and drives business into its offering, means HMK can provide a complete package of drive-train solutions, giving customers one consistent point of contact.”

HMK’s managing director, Gary Kitchin (shown above, left, with Siemens` Ian Welsh), adds: “Our successful collaboration with Siemens has now been strengthened even further to help deliver increased operational efficiency, safety and energy efficiency for OEMs and ultimately their end-user customers. Being able to offer solutions for the complete drive-train enables us to provide even greater service to meet our customers’ needs.”
