High-efficiency motors cover all bases

ABB claims to be the first motor manufacturer to be offering a full range of motors meeting the highest European efficiency class, Eff1. The M3000 range incorporates improvements to most components, including a new bearing assembly that enhances cooling and reliability, and extends bearing lives by 25% and regreasing intervals by 50%.

The M3000 range is designed for demanding continuous processes, such as pumps, stirrers and grinders, in applications where energy consumption and reliability are key factors. It is also useful for pumping and ventilation applications. The range is available in IEC sizes 160-400 (11-710kW) in cast iron, and sizes 63-250 (0.18-75kW) in aluminium.

ABB has also introduced an Eff2 range of motors for applications with shorter running hours. The M2000 range covers IEC sizes 71-250 (0.25-55kW) in cast iron, and 56-100 (0.06-3kW) in aluminium.
