Control Techniques moves UK HQ to Telford

Control Techniques has closed its Birmingham Drive Centre and relocated its activities to a larger, purpose-built site in Telford. The company says the move was needed because of pressure of space at the Birmingham site which had no room for expansion.

For some CT staff, the move means a return to a site where they worked during the 1980s.

CT marketing manager Eddie Kirk predicts that the Telford operation "will quickly become the hub of our UK operations". He adds that the move "is a real strategic one for us, and its timing is just right with all of the new products that we have coming on stream".

"The extra space at Telford will enable us to deploy our resources much more effectively and give our customers a more efficient service," says Kirk.

The move comes as Control Techniques has been upgrading its computer and communications facilities to integrate its UK operations better. The aim, says Kirk, "is to make Control Techniques the company that is the easiest to buy from and the one that can be relied upon for next day delivery, UK-wide".
