CT launches Web sales with 48h delivery pledge

Control Techniques has revamped its Internet activities and introduced an on-line buying service with the pledge that it will deliver almost any of its drive module products within 48 hours of an order being placed.

CT has split its Internet presence across three interlinked sites. The first (ControlTechniques.com) provides corporate information; the second (DrivesPortal.com) acts as a reference source on drives technology; while the third (DrivesShop.com) is an on-line shop through which customers can buy products representing 85% of CT`s modules business.

Customers can set up an account or pay by credit card. On return visits, the site will recognise the customer and show their previous order history. CT claims that new purchases can be made in less than a minute, with repeat orders being even quicker. All of CT`s products will be available on line but orders for specialised items, such as large drives, will elicit a phonecall from CT to arrange delivery.

As an added incentive to on-line shoppers, CT is offering points with each purchase that can be collected and exchanged for a range of activities including flying helicopters and Russian fighter planes, driving tanks and golfing trips. Extra points will be available for customers who register on CT`s stand at the Drives & Controls show where the new Web service is making its debut.
