Trilogy motors straight into the UK

Trilogy, North America`s largest manufacturer of ironless linear motors, is entering the UK market via a distribution deal with Basingstoke-based Time & Precision.

The company`s products include linear servo actuators, and cog-free linear motors capable of accelerating at up to 9G to reach speeds of 8m/s. The three-phase brushless servo motors operate with standard servo amplifiers and motion controllers.

Trilogy has also developed a feedback device that uses the motor`s magnets, instead of glass or magnetic scales, for position information. This patent-pending technology, called the Lem (linear encoder module), can be combined with a linear motor to produce a high-performance actuator with a similar price to that of a conventional rotary motor and ballscrew table.

Trilogy is currently building a new 4,180m2 manufacturing plant in Webster, Texas.
