Drives & Controls 2002 show looks like a winner

Exhibition space for the Drives & Controls 2002 exhibition at Birmingham`s NEC is selling fast, despite the uncertain economic climate. With more than 10 months to go to the show, more than 80 exhibitors had already booked stands with a total floor area of over 2,700m² - equivalent to about two-thirds of the total space at the 2001 show.

Most returning exhibitors are booking larger stands. Already the 2002 show has attracted several new exhibitors from abroad, including AEG Motores from Spain and the mechanical specialist, Hiwin Technologies from Taiwan. Companies returning to the show after an absence include Control Techniques, Rockwell Automation Power Systems, Mayr Transmissions and WEG. One new UK exhibitor is SKF.

The 2002 exhibition will take place in Hall 20 in the "new" section of the NEC from 28-30 May. It will incorporate the Hydraulics & Pneumatics 2002 show, organised by Drives & Controls` sister magazine.

Many exhibitors have welcomed the new May timing because it will allow them to show new products launched the previous month at the Hanover Fair.
