Bosch Rexroth sets up shop in the UK

The UK activities of Mannesmann Rexroth have been merged with Robert Bosch`s AT (automation technology) division to form a new company, Bosch Rexroth. This follows Bosch`s global takeover of the former Mannesmann Rexroth operation.

Paul Cooke is managing director of the new company, with John Wilmott combining the roles of deputy and financial director. Alastair Johnstone is director and general manager of the Glenrothes hydraulic manufacturing plant.

Under the slogan, "The Drive and Control Company", Bosch Rexroth will offer products and services in the areas of industrial and mobile hydraulics, electric drives and controls, linear motion and assembly technologies, pneumatics and service automation.

Cooke sees "a great opportunity" arising from the merger of "two extremely strong and successful companies". He points out that "Bosch AT and Rexroth have always been respected for their high technical and company standards - it is upon these strengths that we are able to build our new company".
