♦  The German sensor manufacturer Leuze electronic has expanded its electronics assembly plant in Unterstadion, adding 1,800m2 to the production area and 1,500m2 to the logistics area. In the UK, Leuze has set itself the target of doubling its market share to 12–18% within five years. According to managing director Mark Weymouth, 43% of the companies Leuze dealt with in the first half of 2009 were new customers.

♦  The 2010 Hannover Fair will include a new show called CoilTechnica aimed at manufacturers of motors, coils and transformers. The show will take place every two years.
 
♦  Yaskawa is transferring its shares in the Yaskawa Siemens Numerical Control joint venture, to its partner, Siemens KK. The JV was founded in 2000 to supply drives and controls to Japanese machine tool builders.
