GE Fanuc Automation UK has reached an agreement with Fortetion to take over the responsibility for selling and supporting Intellution and Mountain Systems control and management software products in the UK.

Economatics has launched a new approach to supplying compressed air in the UK. The venture, called EpicAir, will take over the ownership, operation and maintenance of customers` compressed air plants and charge them a monthly amount based on their use of compressed air, as happens with other utilities.

Farnell InOne has launched a hotline to provide information and support on the imminent RoHS and WEEE Directives. Users can obtain the latest information on the legislation by emailing rohs@farnellinone.co.uk or phoning 08701 072006 - a number which incorporates the RoHS deadline date of July 2006.

RID, the recycling business set up two years ago by Saftronics 2S, has formed a partnership with Bruce Electronics Recycling which has more than ten years` experience of disposing of waste electronics metals and associated materials. RID`s customer base is in the industrial electronics market, while Bruce`s is in IT and telecommunications.

• The sensor manufacturer Carlo Gavazzi has opened a manufacturing plant in Kaunas, Lithuania, which will employ 60 people and produce half of the sensor products currently made at its Danish plant. Nigel Ralf, the company`s UK general manager, predicts that the move will result in shorter lead times, faster product introductions and potential savings for UK customers.
