• A subsidiary of TRW Automotive has bought the Slovakian motor manufacturer Dana Emerson Actuator Systems from Dana Corporation for an undisclosed sum. DEAS, which employs 255 people, makes motors that TRW uses in its electrically assisted steering systems for vehicles.

• The US advanced motor developer Raser Technologies has filed a lawsuit against Amp Resources, which it agreed to acquire earlier this year. Raser alleges that after loaning Amp around $5.6m, Amp "intentionally interfered with the merger" and that Amp "fraudulently induced Raser into the acquisition agreement with false representations". Raser is seeking damages.

Digi International is buying the Utah-based wireless networking specialist MaxStream for $38.5m in cash and shares. MaxStream employs 49 people and last year generated an income of $1.3m on sales worth $10.4m. It products allows users to monitor and control devices wirelessly.
