Hathaway becomes Allied Motion

01 November, 2002

The Hathaway Corporation has changed its name to Allied Motion Technologies, following the sale earlier this year of its power and process businesses, and its decision to focus on the motion control market. The Colorado-based business, which has a UK subsidiary, will continue to use its existing brands, which include Emoteq, Motors & Instruments, and Motor Products.

Chief executive Dick Smith reports that the company has already made "significant progress" in its transformation to a motion specialist and in building a platform in the motion control industry. "We continue to pursue new acquisition opportunities," he says, "as well as implementing lean manufacturing initiatives to improve the performance of our existing operations".
