Work start on $17m Danfoss Drives building project in the US

01 September, 2000

Building work has begun on a new factory and office complex for Danfoss Drives in Illinois, USA. The 11,400 square metre building, in the town of Loves Park, will contain offices, product laboratories and assembly facilities.

Danfoss says that the investment is a significant step in its expansion strategy in the US. When the new building is completed next year, Danfoss will move its North American drives operation from its existing premises in nearby Rockford. The company currently employs 180 people in the US, and expects this number to double in the coming three years.

"Due to rapid growth, we had simply run out of room," explains Danfoss Drives` president, Ross Waite. "This building will accommodate our expansion."

Jørgen Clausen, president of Danfoss` Danish parent company, says the new building will offer "high visibility, easy access for our international visitors and a pleasant work environment".
