Wyko signs deal to stock and repair WEG products

Wyko has signed a deal with WEG to distribute and repair its full range of products, including AC motors and drives, starters and switchgear, throughout the UK.

"The breadth of this new agreement enables us to provide the widest range of motor and control options to our customers," says Alan Whetstone, Wyko Industrial Services` commercial director, (shown above, right, with WEG`s UK managing director, David Ede). "It enables us to offer what others can`t - a synergy of supply and service on a nationwide basis."

Under the agreement, Wyko will hold more than £100,000 worth of WEG LV motors, covering a wide range of sizes and including large machines, centrally in the West Midlands. It will be able to satisfy most standard delivery requests in 24-48h, or on the same day in emergencies. It will also be able to draw on WEG`s £2m of stock in nearby Redditch, for larger and non-standard items.

Under the deal, Wyko has also been appointed as WEG`s authorised repairer in the UK, through its network of 25 electromechanical workshops.

"This is a far-reaching agreement that offers a wide range of benefits," says Marek Lukaszczyk, WEG`s national sales and marketing manager. "It enables both companies to provide improved levels of customer supply, support and service and, at the same time, maximise their potential business.

"WEG`s business in the UK is experiencing extraordinary growth," he adds, "and our user base is growing all the time. Our new partnership with Wyko means that we are able to support this growth, both through the substantial stock of WEG products that Wyko is holding, and through the engineering skills that Wyko brings to support our products and look after them throughout their operating lives."
