Harting revamps and gets a new MD

The interconnect specialist Harting has restructured its UK operations by creating a new company, Harting UK, which will act as the holding company for two subsidiaries, Harting Ltd (the existing sales operation) and a new business, Harting Integrated Solutions (which will focus on backplane manufacturing).

As a result of the restructuring, Peter Hannon (above) has been appointed managing director of Harting Ltd, succeeding Richard Wood who is retiring but will continue to act as a consultant to Harting. Hannon, who was previously finance and operations director, will be responsible for all of Harting`s sales and marketing activities in the UK and Ireland.

Paul Atkinson has been appointed operations director of Harting Integrated Solutions (HIS), located at the same Northampton site. HIS designs and manufactures complex multilayer backplanes.
