Measure your paths without magnets
Pepperl+Fuchs has developed a non-contact linear path measurement system that does not rely on magnets for its operation. Although based on an inductive principle, P+F`s F90 system can be activated by any type of metal, in a similar way to inductive proximity switches.
Compared to conventional path measurement systems based on magnets, the new system is said to be unaffected by vibration or by the target shifting horizontally.
The system is based on precise evaluation of a series of coils. There is a choice of a basic version, which provides continuous current and voltage signals, and a "convenience" version which adds two separate switching points and can be programmed using a teach-in process.
